Over at Orcinus, David Neiwert is doing a series on Fascism. The article he posted today, "The Architecture of Fascim" is one of the scariest things I've read in a long long time.
He's right that the term Fascism has become denatured in the US from over- and misuse. It's a term I shy away from and discount. But, based on his extensive quotations of various definitions, it's what's happening to our country right now. Even if we win this election, we still have a long and dauntingly important struggle ahead of us.
You know, I've been thinking this for some time, but didn't have a clear way to put it. Thanks (I think) for the link--it's not helping my nightmares any either.
