One of the things we like to do is travel and we do a lot of it, frequently in conjunction with attendance at science fiction conventions. Here's a tentative list of travel for the coming year. If any of my readers want do lunch, I'm usually available
January
I'm planning to go to Iowa to campaign for Dean, probably the week before the caucus, but whenever they need me most. So probably Jan. 12-19 in Des Moines
Jordin has to be at Photonics West in San Jose the last week in January. Since we just moved up from the Bay Area I'll go with him to visit friends in the area, and we're discussing going from there to San Diego to get a little sunshine, but that's still up in the air.
February (craziness)
Feb. 12-15 I'll be in Boston for Boskone. I'm staying over for a day long meeting for worldcon on that Monday, the 16th. Jordin has to make a couple of East Coast business trips around then, one of which is to Corning, NY. I hope to go with him as the Museum of Glass is there and I'm a major glass freak. But ghu knows how the scheduling will work out.
Feb. 19-22 I'll be in Monterey CA for Left Coast Crime, a mystery convention.
Feb 27-29 I'll be at Potlatch, an sf con right here in Seattle.
March
So far, nothing's scheduled for March. After that February I'll need a rest!
April
April 9-11 is Minicon in Minneapolis.
May
I'm hoping to go to both Plokta.com in the UK and WisCon in Madison, WI in May, but we shall have to see.
June looks to be quiet
July
Westercon is July 2-5 in Phoenix and we'll be there. (Phoenix in July! Yay!)
About the third week in July I'll attend Conestoga in Tulsa and visit my family in the area.
August
Very quiet month as a rule though I may be going to Boston right at the very end because...
September
I'll be working at and attending the World Science Fiction Convention (aka Noreascon this year) Sept. 2-6.
October
Except for World Fantasy Con Oct. 28-31 we have no concrete plans at this time, but October has a habit of getting wild and crazy. I might run away to visit London or Tokyo or New York. Or New Orleans.
November
November is alway Orycon. I try to stay home other than that because the holidays are coming up.
December
The only travel planned is to Oklahoma for Christmas with my family. I'll undoubtedly have my Winter Festival of Your Choice party sometime around the middle of the month.
And I'd like to squeeze in a visit to New Orleans in the next year. Not to mention another trip to Tokyo. Sigh.
EDIT: ooops forgot the Mythopoeic annual conference July 30-Aug. 2 in Ann Arbor. Given that I'm Steward for Conferences that's a bit embarassing.
Why, yes, we do travel too damn much.
